2015 ABC Diamond STEP Award
For the second straight year Thermal-Tec/Michigan, Inc has won the 2015 ABC Diamond Level Safety Training and Evaluation Process (STEP) award. The Diamond level is the highest level offered for the STEP award and only 9% of STEP applicants meet the criteria to receive it. To achieve ABC's STEP Diamond level, among other requirements, a company must not have suffered a fatality in any of the previous three years resulting in an OSHA citation, maintain a total recordable incident rate at least 50 percent below North America Industry Classification System (NAICS) code industry averages for each of the previous three data years, maintain an Experience Modification Rate (EMR) of .700 or below, submit the previous three years' worth of their official U.S. Department of Labor, OSHA forms 300 and 300A on work-related injuries and illnesses for review, and achieve a specific STEP self-evaluation score. Applicants must also maintain a written substance abuse policy that includes procedures for regular substance abuse testing, where permitted.
